My family member are father, mother, two brothers and grand mother. My brothers and I are far apart in age, 10 years and 12 years. People are often surprised at this fact:)
My hobby is watching comedy program, and listening to music.
I'm very much looking forward to being able to meet everyone.

Hello,
Vocabulary I learned about 30 NEW words this week. I want to study hard every day to understand all words!
Reading I read “DEATH OF AN ENGLISHMAN”. The story is set in Italy, story of police and it was a little scared, but interesting. This book is little bit difficult for me, but I tried to read it every day!
Listening I watched TED TALKS and Voice of America. I especially like TED TALKS, and I was so moved speech by Elizabeth Gilbert. She said in her speech “I finally began to comprehend the strange and unlikely psychological connection in our lives between the way we experience great failure and the way we experience great success.” I thought failure is bad thing, and I don't want to fail. But I come to think that important thing is "Make miss take, don't be shy. And learn from it." Now I'm not good at English, maybe I will make a lot of miss take. But I never give up and do my best to improve my English skill.
Writing I tried quick writes every day. First day I could write only 100 words, but yesterday I could write 172 words!!

Hi, Jamie.
This is Malcolm. I'm one of the FILA English teachers.
You have been doing great!
Twenty-five new words! Yes, it is very important to use the words you are learning. Try using the new words that you learn each week when you write posts on this board too. Maybe you have heard the phrase, "Use it or lose it." Using the words regularly with help you to remember them and keep them in your long-term memory. Then you can say with certainty that you have learned them.
"Black Beauty" is a great story. I remember my mother reading it to me and my siblings when I was young. Yes, the story has a strong message about how animals should be treated. You might enjoy the book, "Call of the Wild" by Jack London. It is about a man and a dog in Alaska. Do you have any pets?
Wow, lots of TEDTalks! You liked his presentation skills, great! Are you also incorporating any of his "secrets" into your life?
Great, 183 words! More power to you!
By the way, I also have a brother and sister who are 10 and 12 years younger than I.
Malcolm

Dear Jamie,
Hi, I am Val. I'm one of the FILA English teachers
I hope you did well on your final exam!
Vocabulary: Oh no, you try to forget them. The purpose of learning them is so you can remember and use them when you com to FILA. To help you to remember them easier, try using them in your quick writes as much as you can. I know you can do it! I look forward to reading that you are able to remember and use them in you quick writes.
Reading: I look forward to reading both your summary and opinion about The Elephant Man. It is an interesting story with an important message.
Listening: Could you please write your summary of MLK's speech? Also, since you have listened to it before, what is your opinion about it?
Quick writes: Now that your exam is finished, I hope you are able to write more. Please remember to include how many words are in each quick write.
Bye for now.

Hi Jamie, Thank you for posting your weekly report.
Vocabulary: Instead of trying not to forget the words how about actively using the words. If you use the words every day you won't forget them. Reading: Yes, please explain what happened in the end. What differences do you need to understand? What is the story in "The Star Zoo?"
Listening: How do great leaders inspire action? Who are examples of great leadership? What are the characteristics of a great leader? Why what?
Writing: Great job getting to 165 words. Yes, practice will help improve your writing speed. Please try typing and see if you can increase your word count.
Great job and keep up the great work.
Sincerely,
Miyagi H
