Good evening , Adding to the last Quick Reply,I'll report my event this week.
Feb 10,my sister took her examination. Her examination subjects were Japanese,English and mathematics. Because I knew her effort,I wished she could solve many question. So today I was so HAPPY to hear that my sister passed her examination!!! This was is the most impressive event.
Other,I had ethics class on Thursday and we did presentation in groups. I was interested in my friend's presentation, the differences meaning of gesture in the world. For example the peace sign,Japanese often use when we take pictures,is meaning"Go to hill!". So I thought thought when we go foreign country we should study about the country not to make matter.
I'm sorry to have been late! Thank you! Sincerely,Celeste.

Dear Celeste, Thank you for posting your weekly report and thank you for taking the time to read my feedback and questions.
Vocabulary: Using the vocabulary words will really help you cement the words in your mind. Please try to use these words in your weekly report and in your quick writes.
Reading: Thank you for sharing about the book you're reading. What did Pigling Brand's mother ask to be bought? Did both Pigling Brand and his brother Alexander go to get these items?
Listening: Saved by the Bell is difficult because there are jokes which are difficult to understand. I recommend watching something with a transcript or closed caption. Please watch Voice of America or News material.
Writing: Did you do any quick writes?
Good luck on your final exams. I'm looking forward to reading a more complete report next time.
Sincerely,
Miyagi H

Hi,everyone! I'll report my study this week.
Vocabulary I learned 25words. I will try to be able to pronounce wards I studied.
Reading I read the sequel to"THE TALE OF PIGLING BLAND", but it was too difficult to read for me so I changed book:-( The book's title is"Who Was Rosa Parks?"written by Yona Zeldis Mcdonough. This book tell me the history that once white had discriminated black heavily. I don't finish to read this book so I will read all tomorrow!
Listening I listened to VOA learn English,"Zimbabwean Government on Trial Over Marriage Age for Girls". I was surprised that many girls in Zimbabwe marry before the age 18. But two girls there say enough is enough and talking steps to raise the legal age at which girls can be married. I thought their behavior is so great because they take up against role of society in spite of their dangerous.
Writing I wrote 98words in Quick Writes. Because of my test,I didn't only one:( I'm not good at using idiom so I will study not only wards but idiom.
I finished my final exams yesterday.I was tired but I'm happy!! So what to do for me from now is study for university!

Hi Celeste.
Malcolm here.
We realize that you have a busy life with school and other responsibilities. We are only asking you to be as consistent as possible in your pre-study for FILA. We don't want English to be a burden or a frustration for you. We just want to help prepare you as much as possible for your entrance into FILA. Take a deep breath and relax. Little by little!
Vocabulary: Twenty-five words, good! It is very important to review the vocabulary you are learning. Keep using them as often as you can and in as many different situations as possible. Don't forget to study related words, or other meanings for the words. Using the words consistently will help you remember them, so they will become automatic and you won't have to think about them when you are using them. Making original sentences will help you to use and remember the words better. What was the most interesting word that you have studied so far?
Reading: Don't force yourself to read too much in one day. This is supposed to be enjoyable as well as educational. Start reading a little each day. Make it a habit, even if it is only for a few minutes. Build this into a habit. You can do it. What did you learn about Mrs. Parks that you hadn't heard before?
Listening: At what age do you think people should get married and why?
Writing: If you didn't have much time this week, then do what you can and do more next week. We are only asking you to be as consistent as possible in your pre-study for FILA. We don't want English to be a burden or a frustration for you. We just want to help prepare you as much as possible for your entrance into FILA. Take a deep breath and relax. Little by little!
Keep up the great Work!
Malcolm

Hi,everyone! I'll report my study of this week!
Vocabulary I studied 20words this week. I tried to write my diary with wards I studied. The most interesting words that I have studied so far is "particular". I have't deep meaning in "particular" but I like the word's pronounce and spell. And "particular"is the word the character of my favorite book often use!
Reading I read "Who Was Rosa Parks?" written by Yona Zeldis McDonough. This book is about Rosa Parks who is a brack woman confronted racial discrimination. She was born in Tuskegee,Alabama. The area she lives in had discrimination, white people are better than brack people. For example brack people couldn't use the same buses' seats, water fountains and public pools with white people that time. About buses; The front rows were for white passengers and the back rows were for bracks. The middle rows were for whites and blacks. But if a white person sat down in a row,all the bracks in that row had to get up and move because brack people couldn't sit the same row with white people. How unfair!! It was there Rosa Parks was took off a bus by bus driver because she refused to move a seat for white passengers. Since she was a girl, she has thought it's wrong to discriminate between bracks and whites. So she fought to against racial discrimination, the most famous action is "Bus Boycotto". "Bus Boycotto" means brack people don't ride public buses.Rosa Parks wnated bus driver to realize how much they needed black passengers. Consequently, buses' role was improved so black passengers came to sit the same seats with whites. Thanks to her encourage action, black people could change society! She is so great!! I thought we have to act by oneself if we want to change something. And I think it is importnt to determined to carry out justice.
Listening I listened to TED"Mathmatics talk love"by Hannah Fry. I was intersted in how to avoid divorse. The couples can avoid divorse say own complain each other. That was proved by a researcher of mathmatics. According to this TED,the researcher recorded a couple's conversation in detal and he reached that result. If I marry someone,I refer to this study!! This talk is so difficult that I couldn't understand without Japanese subtitle.
Writing I did 4Quick Writes this week. I could write only 126words. I'm not good at making sentences in English so I'll write more Quick Write.
Malcom,I thught people should get married at the age of 18. We should marry at enough age we can make a decision.
Thank you! Celeste.
