Vocabulary I learned 31 words this week. I want to study more words in next week.
Reading I read ''Sherlock Holmes and his short stories'' this week. It contains three mystery stories. It excites me very much. And nowadays, I like Sherlock which is a British television crime drama.
listening I listened to the BBC English and a TED Talk. I watched ''Laugh and think science prize.'' It was very fun. I could know many unique ideas. Also I listened to the Beatles' songs. I like them very much. They made songs before I was born but now, their songs are popular yet. Their songs are easy for listening to. So I can study how to pronounces many words from them.
Writing I did 4 quick writes this week. I could use words which I learned this week. But I often do mistakes at spelling. I want to write sentences without any mistakes.

Hello everyone!
Vocabulary: I learned 34words this week. Every time after learning a word, I wrote a sentence with it to remember well. So I could learn how to use these words.
Reading: I'm sorry that I had some mistakes in last weekly report. I wanted to say "I have read Big Hero6" but I said "I read Big Hero6". And now I finished reading 52pages. I want to finish to read this book by next weekly report. The stage in this story is San Fransokyo, that means San Francisco+Tokyo. Baymax is a robot which helps the people who suffer. I want to encourage like Baymax.
Listening: I watched a commencement speech by Steve Jobs in Stanford University. He was a CEO of Apple. He died in 2011. He said "You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life." in his speech. After hear that I determined to study hard and to read books for me in the future. Hearing this speech first time, I couldn't understand well what he said. But I can understand most of it now because I repeatedly watched it and tried Shadowing. I could learn from this speech not only English but also importance of the thing not giving up.
Writing: I wrote 7 quick writes. I wrote 142 words in 10 minutes at most. I want to use new words more.

Hi Keith, Thank you for posting your weekly report.
Vocabulary: Yes, please be sure you know these words. When you enter FILA you need to be able to use these words.
Reading: "I read Big Hero 6" means you finished reading the book. "I have read Big hero 6" means you have read the book at some point in the past. They basically mean you have finished reading the book. If you are still continuing to read the book you want to say "I'm reading Big Hero 6." It's ok to make grammar mistakes until it becomes difficult to understand. We want you to be able to communicate effectively and that is why I ask questions to clarify meaning. So what was Big Hero 6 about? What is the plot of the story?
Listening: Yes, the commencement speech by Steve Jobs is very famous. I love how he explained where the fonts came from and his ups and downs in life. Have you had a chance to read "Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson. When he was released from Apply he had a chance to reflect on his life. This helped him to spend more time with his family. I think we all need to take time to reflect.
Writing: Great job getting to 142 words and doing 7 quick writes.
Please keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
Miyagi H

Hi Keith!
This is Malcolm, one of the FILA English teachers.
Yes, we understand that you are still taking exams and have other high school related activities. If you didn't have much time this week, then do what you can and do more next week. We are only asking you to be as consistent as possible in your pre-study for FILA. We don't want English to be a burden or a frustration for you. We just want to help prepare you as much as possible for your entrance into FILA. Take a deep breath and relax. Little by little!
Vocabulary: Thirty words, great! It is also very important to review the vocabulary you are learning. Keep using them as often as you can and in as many different situations as possible. Don't forget to study related words, or other meanings for the words. Using the words consistently will help you remember them, so they will become automatic and you won't have to think about them when you are using them. What was the most interesting word that you have studied so far?
Reading: Please give more specific details about what you learned from the movie. I haven't seen the movie yet. Is the book the same as the movie?
Listening: Which speech did you listen to? What part was the most impressive or meaningful to you?
Writing: Good job with being consistent with the writing.
In general, do each of the activities we have suggested a little each day. Make it a habit, even if it is only for a few minutes. Build this into a habit. You can do it. This will not only help you when you come to university but also with the rest of your life.
Keep up the good work.
Malcolm
