Hello,
vocabulary I learned about 20 new words this week. It's interesting to look up words I already know with dictionary because sometimes I can find out other meanings.
Reading I'm reading ''The Chronicles of Narnia ~The lion, the witch and the wardrobe''. This is very interesting story because when characters step in to the wardrobe, they stand another place that is Narnia.
Listening I watched VOA,NPR,BBC English, and TEDTALKS but my favorite was BBC Enlish. The video I watched was about coffee addiction. Many people like coffee but if you drink coffee too much it's very bad for you. I got to know that people of Finland consume about 12kilograms of coffee per person every year!
Writing I did quick writes every day. On Monday, I only could do 5 quick writes but yesterday, I did 8 quick writes!

Hi Isabella, You're the first one to post your weekly report. Congratulations! Your reading "The Chronicles of Narnia?" That's great! Do you know the reason why C.S. Lewis, the author, wrote the book? There are many symbolic representations in the story. Where are you in the story? Have they entered Narnia yet? Who is your favorite character?
What was the title of the TEDTalks speech you saw? Do you drink coffee? How much coffee do you drink?
Good job on your quick writes. You are going the extra mile and this is what will help you to develop your English skills. Keep up the good work!
Sincerely,
Miyagi H

Hello everyone, this is my second report.
Vocabulary:I learned 50 new words! I've studied for Eiken grade pre1 these days. There are so many words that I don't know so it's so hard to memorize those words but I will do my best!
Reading:I'm still reading The Chronicles of Narnia. I've read 11chapters out of 17chapters. The chapter I'm reading is about one of the children became side of the witch but he realized that she was not goood witch. Other children is trying to find him and rescue Mr.Tumnus who is Faun with beavers that they met in Narnia. In Narnia, it's always winter because of the power of the bad witch. However, the power is weaking now and spring seems to coming little by little. That is all I've read. I can't wait to read the next chapter. When I finishe reading this book, I will watched this movie in English.
Listening:I watched 6minites English entitled''The male brain, the female brain'' It says the male brain and the female brain are quite different. For example. male are good at learning and performing a single task. For example, male are better at reading map. In contrast, female are good at multi-tasking. For example female are good at remembering words or informations of other people. I think this statement is not always true but it is very interesting reserch!
Writing:I did quick writes by 37. I was able to write much more words than last week. Yay!

Hello,
Vocaburary:I learned 50words from Eiken pre1 this week. Recently I downloaded the aplication that I can memorize words for Eiken. It's like a game so I can enjoy studying.
Reading:Sorry Mr.Miyagi,I didn't reply to your question last time. I think Edmund took the side of witch because he wanted to eat delicious turkish and become a king of Narnia. When he went to the Narnia alone, he met the white witch and she used magic power and gave a delicious turkish and she said ''If you'll come here the Narnia again with other three kids, you can have more turkish and become a king''. That's why Edmund took the side of witch I think. Actually, the more I read the book, the more I became confused. The children and the Beavers finally were able to meet to Aslan and they also met Edmund and the white witch but I don't understand what are Aslan and the witch are talking about. Maybe I should read this story more carefully...
Listening: I listened to the 6miniutes English. The story is about ''what is dark tourism?'' Dark tourism is trip that we go to places that connected bad or sinister thing. Though I really don't want to go those places, these kind of trips are increasing.
Writing: I did 12 quick writes. For each questions, I wrote about 80~100.

Hi Isabella, Good job getting your weekly report in.
Vocabulary: What's the name of the application? 50 words is great but do you use them? Be sure to use the words you learn.
Reading: Yes, the author C.S. Lewis used a lot of symbolism in his story. For many with a different cultural background the symbolism may not be very clear. If you understand the main story go ahead and continue reading. The details will come as you learn more vocabulary and you experience different cultures.
Listening: Dark Tourism sounds interesting. I've also heard of Eco-Tourism where people go see fields of solar panels and have a picnic in the sun. I guess this could be called Bright Tourism.
Writing: Wow! 12 quick writes. You may want to cut down on the quick writes to just one per day. Make sure you plan before you write and try to increase your writing speed.
You're doing well. Keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Miyagi H

Sometimes there were some parts that I couldn't understand but when I watched the movie I found out the meaning. I bought a new book yesterday so I'll start reading it next week.
writing:I did 5 quick writes. This week, I tried to write as much words as I could for each question.
listening:I listened BBC 6 minutes english entitled ''Talking monkeys''. It was very interesting. There is a kind of monkey called gelada. They make a sound which is like they are gargling. Scientists believe that galada calls might be similar to the primitive noises that our evolutionary ancestors made. However the scientists don't know yet what the noises mean exactly.

Hello, here is the weekly report of this week.

reading:I forgot to write the name of the book last week. I've read the book called ''The giver''. I still reading this book. I read chapter 4 but I really can't understand the story so I think I'll change the book.
listening: I listened 6 minutes English entitled ''42 languages''. According to this, there are a school that has 600 people in London. Children that go to this school are from another country. Many are children of immigrants and refugees. The most suprising thing is no less than 42 languages are spoken in the play ground! Those children are from different country but they have learned English as well so by 16 they can speak two languages as bilingual. This topic reminded me my experience of study abroad. During study abroad, I used to go to public school around my home. I had taken class called ELD. This class was for students whose first language is not English. In the class, there were people who are from Mexico, Hawaii, and Guam. They were speaking different language but they have lived in the U.S. for long time so they were able to speak English fluently as well.
Writing: I did 5 quick writes this week. I tried to write more than 150 words and my best was 211 words!
